Training Delivery Manager

How long have you worked for Wessex Water?

'I joined Wessex Water initially on a two week contract… that was 18 years ago.'

What attracted you to Wessex Water in the first place?

'The benefits of starting as a temp enabled me to see just how well people were looked after. It was clear to me ‘people came first’ and I was really impressed with just how many different roles and opportunities there are at Wessex Water.'

What does your job entail and what do you most enjoy about the role?

'As a training delivery manager, I get to help train and develop colleagues so they can be safe while at work and become the best version of themselves. One of the most enjoyable aspects I find is seeing how people progress through the business, getting to meet them on a company induction and then years later meet them at a leadership course as they become managers.'

Tell us about your team and what you like most about working with your colleagues at Wessex Water?

'I am lucky enough to work with a great team of people that support each other and always strive to improve everything they do. Wessex Water has always felt like a community rather than a business and every colleague I meet is driven to contribute something to that community to make it a better place for everyone.'

Why do you think Wessex Water is a great place to work?

'I have been fortunate to have had many career opportunities in my time at Wessex Water. I have always felt supported in any decision that I have made, and I think that is why it is such a great place to work. Wessex Water seems to understand that the best resource of any company is its people, if they feel happy and supported in what they do you get the best from them.'

What do you enjoy most when not working

'I have a lot to thank Wessex Water for, I met my wife while working here and we now have two children who we love taking on walks all over the region. I am also a keen golfer (just not a very good one) and enjoy playing a round at the weekend.'
